Zero Waste Storiesalessandra palange
In the first issue of the second year we introduced a novelty. We were impressed by the fact that a large number of people who adopted a zero-waste lifestyle are actually crafters as well. Why? Often, in order to eliminate all the superfluous, such as single use plastic, these resourceful people end up crafting by hand their own alternative solutions. As a consequence, many ‘zero wasters’ have even started their own sustainable businesses. This is where zero waste and artisanship converge. In this section, we tell the stories behind alternative ‘zero-waste’ products and their makers in our quest for a less wasteful and more conscious lifestyle. Here, we are effectively exploring craft cultures in their most functional, and perhaps original, form.
